Having a Vision

Written by Lisa O'Neill - CEO | 11 January 2022

You have no idea what you are capable of. No idea of what is possible for you!

No time to read the blog? You can listen to it here.

Having a vision of who or what you want to be is one of the most powerful things you can create.

I am allergic to limitations. I think it’s boring to limit yourself and a crime to limit others! You have no idea what you are capable of. No idea of what is possible for you!

I love the start of a new year. It always feels full of possibilities. Like a new notebook filled with smooth blank pages. What are some of your possibilities? Actually, let’s go higher- what is the biggest, most audacious thing you could hope to be?

What would you be an expert in?
How much would you earn?
Who would you want to know about you?

Mark Manson is one of my favourite authors. In 2007, he started blogging. He first started posting about dating advice for a few years and earned a modest income writing and coaching about that. In 2010, he transitioned to self-help. In 2016, he released The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, which has sold over 9 million copies.

In 2018, Mark was contacted by Will Smith to help him co-write his autobiography, “Will”. He has written 3 best-selling books and been employed by one of the greatest film actors of our time. He is only 35 years old! My point being that 12 years ago, he could not have imagined his world now….

Albert Einstein said that “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

I don't think that any of us spend enough time 'imagining'. Take a minute right now. Stop reading and imagine...Imagine your phone rings.

Who is it?
Who could be on that phone that would blow your mind?
What would they want?
What are they calling you about?

What is the most amazing phone call or offer you could imagine receiving? Once you have imagined that, go further - imagine how you would show up.

What would you wear?
How would you travel?
How much would you be getting paid?

Playing in possibility is a wonderful way to start your year.

Create a movie of what feels way beyond possible and watch it often.

“Your vision of where or who you want to be is the greatest asset you have.” - Paul Arden
